The independent heating and cooling company across the Willamette Valley and northwest Oregon

Gas Furnace Installation

We install gas furnaces in homes across Oregon and Washington, replacing a worn or failed unit with one sized to the house it actually heats. Homeowners usually call when a furnace has cracked or quit, when heating repair costs keep stacking up, or when a remodel changed the load on the system. If your furnace is short cycling, blowing cool air, or the burners will not stay lit, call us and we will look at it before you commit to a replacement.

What a gas furnace installation involves

The old unit comes out, and we deal with everything it was connected to. That means the gas line and shutoff, the flue or venting, the electrical connection, the condensate drain on a condensing furnace, and the duct transitions at the supply plenum and return. We set the new furnace level, seal the connections, and confirm the venting path is correct for the equipment. Most single-day jobs finish in a day. Older homes with tight crawlspaces, undersized returns or venting that needs rerouting take longer, and we tell you that up front.

What we check and set up before we leave

We measure static pressure so we know the blower is not fighting the duct system, then check gas pressure and temperature rise against the manufacturer's range. We verify the safeties, the flame sensor, the pressure switch and the limit, and we test the thermostat through a full heating cycle. Combustion venting gets confirmed, and we look at return air and filter access so the filter is something you will actually change. Then we walk you through the settings and what normal sounds like on the new unit.

How we decide a new gas furnace is the right call

We start with what the furnace is doing and what it would cost to fix. A failed inducer motor on an otherwise sound unit is a furnace repair. A cracked heat exchanger, a rusted-through cabinet, or a heating system that has needed parts three winters running points toward replacement. We also ask what the rest of the house needs, because plenty of homes across the region do better with a heat pump carrying the mild months and gas heat backing it up. We give you both options honestly.

Gas Furnace Installation — quick answers

Can I keep my existing ductwork with a new gas furnace?

Often yes. We measure static pressure and check return sizing first. If the ducts are undersized or leaking badly, we tell you what needs fixing, because a new furnace pushing against bad duct will run loud and short cycle.

Do I need new venting with a new furnace?

Sometimes. A condensing furnace vents differently than an older one and needs a condensate drain, so existing metal flue may not be reusable. We confirm the correct venting for the equipment as part of the install.

I smell gas near my furnace. What now?

Leave the house first, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not touch switches or the furnace. Once the utility has cleared the property, call us and we will inspect the system.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. Describe the noise, the smell, the temperature, and when it started. That detail helps us bring the right parts and gives you an honest idea of the visit ahead.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. We tell you what failed and why, in plain language, before anyone reaches for a part or a price.

  3. Step 3

    You choose the repair

We lay out the fix, any parts on order, and what happens if you wait. Once you agree, we do the work and confirm the system holds temperature before we pack up and leave.

Why homeowners call us

  • Heat pumps are our normalIn this region heat pumps outnumber furnaces, so defrost boards, reversing valves and short cycling in wet weather are everyday work for us. We know how these systems behave in a cold December rain, not just on a test bench.
  • Wet winter defrost problemsIce on the outdoor coil, a unit that runs and runs without warming the house, puddles that refreeze under the pad. We trace whether it is a sensor, a stuck valve, drainage, or airflow, then fix the actual cause.
  • Filtration after smoke seasonWildfire smoke turned indoor air quality into a real conversation here. We look at filter fit, return sizing and IAQ options that your blower can actually push air through, rather than choking the system with the wrong media.
  • We explain before we chargeYou get the diagnosis, the options and the trade-offs before work starts. If a repair is not worth it on an old system, we say so. No pressure, no jargon dumped on you at the door.
